Q – What do I wear?
A – Long trousers will prevent your legs from chafing, long sleeved shirts will provide sun and insect protection. Heeled boots are mandatory – laces are fine but your shoes MUST have a heel
Q – Do you supply helmets?
A – Yes. You may bring your own as long as it is ASTM/SEI certified. Helmets are mandatory.
Q – Do we need boots?
A – Yes, boots with a heel are mandatory. We do not provide boots.
Q – What time do we arrive?
A – Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled activity.
Q – Where do we meet?
A – All trail riders need to congregate in the indoor riding arena. It is clearly signed and is the big white building below the house.
Q – Where do we park?
A – Parking is by the indoor arena. If you are not a house guest, please do not park by the farmhouse or in front of any accommodations.
Q – Do we need experience?
A – No, beginners are welcome. However, if you do have experience be sure to let us know.
Q – I have a disability; can I still ride?
A – No, unfortunately we are not equipped to deal with disabilities.
Q – What is the minimum age?
A – 12yrs and over. Children 16yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Q – What is the maximum weight?
A – 250lbs. Horses can only carry ¼ of their bodyweight and all our horses weigh around 1000lbs.
Q – What time is the BBQ?
A – 7pm
Q – How do I reserve the BBQ?
A – There is an option to reserve your BBQ slot on the Rezdy booking site.
Q – Do you serve alcohol at the BBQ?
A – No. Its BYOB – good news is... there’s a wine shop and convenience store a mile from the farm!
Q – Do you supply drinks on the ride?
A – Yes, we have water available.
Q – What else do I need to bring?
A – Sunscreen, bug spray and a small snack if you need it (pocket size).
Q – What time is the ride?
A – We go out at 10, noon and 6pm.
Q – Is the ride only for house guests?
A – No. We are open to the public.
Q – What if the weather is bad?
A – We go out regardless. Please bring the appropriate clothing. Payments are not required until 48hrs before your activity – please check the weather before you pay if you think it may be bad and you don’t want to ride, you may cancel. In the event of extreme weather conditions, we will contact you – we may suggest rescheduling, a shorter ride or a different time to avoid adverse weather.
Q – What is your cancellation policy?
A – We require a 10% non-refundable deposit at the time of reservation. Full payment is required 48hrs prior to your activity – you may cancel before you have paid in full, but we will retain your deposit.
Q – Are you insured?
A – Yes.
Q – Do I need to sign the liability waiver?
A – Yes. No exceptions. Everyone; every time; MUST sign the waiver. Under 18s need a guardian to sign on their behalf. Refusal to sign the waiver will result in the cancellation of your reservation and no refund will be given.
Q – Do you have Western or English saddles?
A – We have both. Unless stipulated you will ride Western. If you have experience riding English, the correct clothing to do so and you would like to ride English please contact us in advance (limited availability).
Q – How many people per group?
A – Maximum of four, plus a guide.
Q – Are there scenic views?
A – Yes. If you choose to stay on the farm or ride into Letchworth State Park, both routes have spectacular views.
Q – What happens if I’m not enjoying the ride or I can’t go any further?
A – If you want you may dismount and walk back to the farm, the guide will ‘pony’ your horse for you. If this isn’t an option, we will arrange for someone to come and pick you up.
Q – Are you open all year?
A – No. Our operating dates are May 1st through October 31st.
